Not much to hang on to... gotta love those hand and foot smears...

Lots and Lots of climbing

Well, the title says it all; We have been climbing every day and its amazing. So far we have been several different areas climbing- Murrin Park, The Smoke Bluffs, and the Bullet Heads. We are quickly getting a feel of the rock now and really enjoying the incredible crack climbing.

The weekends are a bit insane up here... we were a bit surprised on Saturday to find every crag packed, no matter where we went. So perhaps working on the weekends and climbing weekdays might be the best bet. Now we only need jobs....

We are currently staying in the climbers campground at the base of the chief and desperately looking for a van to live in. It has become very apparent that the car is just way too small to live out of all summer. To get clothes, food, climbing equipment... etc. you pretty much have to unpack and repack the car constantly. Not a good time. We are hoping to find something soon and have chased a good lead up to Whistler this afternoon and are going to think about it over the next few days. Since we were up there anyways and neither of us had been to Whister before, Paul and I took the opportunity to do the town stroll and check things out. It turns out Whistler is a lot like Banff... a pretty rad place but super trendy and shopping focused. Beautiful mountains everywhere though!

In a tremendous show of generosity as the Sikh Association of Squamish put on a FREE Indian feast for all the hungry mouths of Squamish and of course, being poor climbing bums we just couldn't pass it up. SO Good!

Squamish!!!

After much anticipation, some car maintenance and some creative packing skills Paul and I crammed and squished ourselves and our lives into a Toyota Corrola and started driving West. We made our first stop in Sicamous to hang out with Paul's brother Jason. After a good nights sleep we spent a wickedly beautiful day exploring around the area and eventually ending up at Seymour -a small settlement on the far north tip of the Seymour Arm on Sicamous Lake where we strolled the beach, ate the most expensive veggy wrap lunch imaginable and took a dip in the lake before wrapping up the day at the drive-in movie theater in Enderby. From Sicamous we went south to Penticton and spent the next three days climbing the amazing gneiss cliff bands of the Skaha bluffs. Just as we finished up the Preface and Asshole of August link-up and were really getting stoked on climbing a mid-day thunder-boom rolled in and got us soggy. Really soggy. So we packed up and drove to Abbotsford where we caught up with Paul's buddy Lowlle, got the pleasure of a shower, bed and good hospitality. Now we are on to Squamish!! We have some leads on some free camping spots and are hoping to be able to meet up with some friends when we get in. Then the climbing begins, muwhahahahahahaha!
